The BDLGA wishes to advise that due to personal reasons Sue Strong has tended her resignation from both the Presidency and Committee effective immediately.

The BDLGA would like to thank Sue for her support and guidance throughout her tenure and wishes her well in the future.

The Management Committee has by written resolution and approved by all remaining committee members appointed Renai Ridley to fill the casual vacancy position of President until the 2023 AGM to be held on Friday 24th February at Wolston Park Golf Club.

The BDLGA is pleased to advise that Donna Beacham, a member of Redland Bay Golf Club has accepted the position of BDLGA District Secretary. Donna will officially start at our AGM on the 24th Feb 2023.

Year ten student Natascha Tennent is stepping onto the world stage.

Tennent, who plays at Wynnum Golf Club in Brisbane’s east, has been selected to represent Australia at the Special Olympics World Games in Berlin from June 17-25, 2023 after winning gold at the Special Olympics National Games in Launceston last month.

The 15-year-old Brisbane Adventist College student is Australia’s top-ranked female golfer with disability and she showed her class in Tasmania.

“Nationals were amazing. Getting to meet all the athletes, hang out with them and make friends,” Tennent said. 

“The course itself was beautiful. I even shot a personal best of 81 on one of the days.”

That mark has now given Tennent a simple goal for the World Games.

“I want to break 80 at least one of the days,” she said.

This is a Greg Norman Junior Masters Qualifying Event.

The BDGA and the BDLGA will host the  Brisbane Junior Amateur Championship at the Brisbane Golf Club on Thursday 7th July - afternoon shotgun, and Friday 8th July - morning shotgun.

Entries are open to both boys and girls from all Districts.  This is an Open Event. 

"To all interested ladies who may be considering playing in the Meg Nunn Salver the following information may be pertinent.

The event will be played at Middle Ridge, Toowoomba, from Sunday 4th September to Thursday 8th September.
Seven (7) Districts will compete, each playing each other in Stroke matchplay.  Two matches each day. 
You will be required to arrive sometime Saturday 3rd September as there may be a practice round on Sunday.
The team will consist of five (5) players plus a reserve with handicaps of GA16 and under.
The team will have a non-playing Captain and a Team Manager.
The BDLGA will be selecting a squad of nine (9) players and monitoring their performances over an ensuring couple of months before the Meg Nunn team is announced at the end of July or early August.
Carts are allowed however if you are under 65 years of age, you will require a current medical certificate issued within three months of the starting date.
