I hope everybody had a great Xmas and is now looking forward to a year of great golf.

We will of course have to abide by the Covid 19 laws as they happen throughout the year.

Whilst there are no Junior Pennants this year, I hope that you get selected to play weekend pennants for your club. We have lowered the age to 13 years of age to allow juniors to compete. Please speak to the Ladies' Captain, to let them know if you are available to play.

This is a trial for this year and a decision will be made at the end of the year as to whether or not to revert back to having a Junior Pennant competition next year.

The Open Junior Championships will be held at Brisbane Golf Club on the 7-8th July.  Please consider entering and bring your friends along to play. We need to increase the numbers to maintain the event each year, so if you know anyone who is eligible to play, bring them along.

The Junior Jug, will, hopefully, be held this year in conjunction with the Katherine Kirk Classic at Maroochydore River Golf Club on the 18th – 20th of September. A team of 3 will be selected to represent the BDLGA.

The selectors will be assessing your results throughout the year in an endeavour to select the team. They will announce the team in late July or early August.

The BDLGA will be having a new Junior Girls event at Windaroo.  The BDLGA Junior Girls Open Classic is to be held on Monday 26th of September. Tee time 7:30 a.m. The competition will be a Stableford with a Max Handicap of GA 33.

There will also be a 9-hole comp for Beginners to be run in conjunction with the main event.  Bring along your sister, or friend and start them off playing golf – never know they might enjoy the day.

The BDLGA will be hosting the Sarah Jane Kenyon on the 30th of October at Keperra Golf Club. Tee off at 8:00 a.m.

The team of 8 will be announced in late September.

Just a reminder, that there will be a couple of Sunday competitions that you are eligible to play in.  Check the BDLGA calendar events site for details.

I hope you all enjoy your golf, no matter where you play.

May you and your family stay Covid-free.

Regards,

Sue Strong
