Greater Brisbane 3-day lockdown

Earlier today the Queensland Premier announced that as of 6pm today, Friday 8 January until 6pm Monday 11 January, Greater Brisbane will go into a three-day lockdown (includes the council areas of Brisbane, Logan, Ipswich, Moreton and Redlands).

This lockdown requires all golfing activities including practice in the above mentioned local government areas to cease completely.

  • Golf cannot be played
  • Staff and volunteers deemed essential by the facility may attend to perform duties (i.e. green keepers, caterers etc.)
  • Clubhouses can provide take away food and home delivery services.

People living within these local government areas are not be able to play golf outside the lockdown area (no travelling to play).

Golf Australia is aware that Clubs Queensland advised Member Clubs earlier today that Golf could be played during the lockdown, Clubs Queensland have since confirmed that QLD Health have notified them that this is not correct and a second communication from Clubs Queensland will be sent today confirming such.

While it is not mandated that activity cannot occur today, the Queensland Government is strongly encouraging sport in the Greater Brisbane Area to implement these changes as soon as possible.

Get tested

If you have any symptoms at all, get tested immediately and quarantine at home until you receive a negative result.
