Chyloe Kurdas, the Female Engagement Senior Manager with Golf Australia gave an online presentation at the BDLGA Delegates' meeting on 5 March at McLeod Golf Club.  In it, she raised the bar for us to take ownership of golf for women and girls within our own clubs.  Her motivational speech is now available on our website.  It is highly recommended viewing for all of our members.

Get Into Golf

At the Delegates' meeting at McLeod CGC in March, Guest Speakers from Golf Australia were Michele Stanley and Judy Logan.  They updated the delegates and visitors on Get Into Golf, which has a well-represented average of 85% female new golfers attending.  This is a great opportunity to welcome new women into our clubs.  It is up and running again, and can be accessed through the Golf Australia website.

Queensland Open

Judy was happy to advise us that there are at least 6 women in the field for the upcoming Queensland Open at Pelican Waters on 11 - 14 March, which the possibility of even more, as the qualifiers have not yet finished.  Good luck to all of our players, who are competing in the same field as the men.

Outback Masters

Judy also recommended the Outback Masters, which has full details on the Golf Australia website and will begin at the end of June.  It is a great opportunity to visit some/many Queensland outback towns and enjoy both their golf courses and their fantastic hospitality.

BDLGA Juniors

Sue Strong, the Junior Chair on the BDLGA, has asked for all Clubs in our District to prepare a Player Profile for all Junior golfers in our Clubs.  She will be in touch to follow this up.
